Painted Frogs

Painted Frogs

Figure-making is one of my favorite parts of writing up a scientific publication. So challenging, but so satisfying. One of the stranger things I’ve done as a biologist is try to convince poison dart frogs that a plastic, 3D-printed and delicately-painted model is a frog worthy of their attention. This figure is part of a manuscript I’m in the process of writing. The point of the study shall remain a secret for now.
